Death of a loved one is a time of grief and loss, and it can be a difficult process for families and friends to have to make decisions regarding funeral arrangements. The funeral service is the time when the deceased person can be remembered, have their life celebrated and is an opportunity for mourners to say goodbye.
The service that I offer starts with a family meeting to gather the details of the deceased person's life, and to discuss options for the service. This meeting can be quite lengthy at times but I believe that this is critical to ensure that the service truly reflects the life of the deceased.
After this meeting, there may occasionally be other meetings with different family members or friends, but I will draft the service and provide a copy to the family. This will include the eulogy if I am delivering this part of the service. I can also assist in the choice of readings, prayers or music.
My professional background ensures that I have a good understanding of grief, and so allows me to work with families in an empathetic way. I will remain available to the family for changes or additions to the service up until the day of the funeral. I will deliver the service in a professional and compassionate manner, working cooperatively with the Funeral Director.
I can be contacted 24 hours a day by families who may wish to use my services for a funeral.
I have a special interest in working with people in the final phase of their life who may wish to be remembered in a certain way, or have the opportunity to tell their own story for use in the eulogy. Please contact me at any time for further information regarding this service.
