Life Event Ceremonies
Civil Celebrant
Justice of the Peace
Weddings
Couples choose a Civil Celebrant for their wedding for a number of reasons, but one constant factor is the wish to make their ceremony unique and one to remember. Your ceremony can be truly your own, reflecting your thoughts, feelings and ideas.
Your ceremony can take place in any location and on any day of the week, at any time of the day or night. There are very few mandatory parts of the ceremony, and I am able to ensure that all legal requirements are met, whilst at the same time allowing you to express your love and commitment in a way that is meaningful to you, your family and friends.
I have a range of resources available and can assist you to decide what readings, vows and rituals you want included. Many couples already know what they want when they meet the Celebrant, but if you haven't got this far with your planning, I am happy to assist.
Your ceremony will be professionally written and delivered, with full consultation throughout.
I will assist you with all forms, including the Notice of Intended Marriage form.
The law requires that you provide one calendar month's notice of your intention to marry, so it is important to contact your Celebrant as soon as the date is set. In special circumstances, this time can be shortened; call me if you require more information regarding this.
Prior to the wedding you will be required to provide birth certificates (full original or extract), regardless of where you were born, and evidence of identification. If you are unable to provide a birth certificate, there may be other options, call me to discuss this. If you have been married before, you will need to provide evidence of death or divorce.
You must have two witnesses present at the ceremony, who are over the age of eighteen.
Most couples don't really consider the importance of the Celebrant, but the ceremony can make all the difference to the success of the wedding and the wonderful memories that you will have. Many hours of work go into preparing and delivering a personal ceremony and it pays to consider what you want, and ensure that you have a Celebrant who can deliver.
I only do one wedding on any given day to ensure that you do not have to feel rushed. I require a 25% booking fee to confirm the date, and this is non refundable. The fee includes all costs associated with the marriage, there are no hidden extras
Registry Office Weddings
This type of wedding is no longer available in Ballarat, it is necessary to travel to Melbourne. If you require a simple, Registry Office Style ceremony, I can offer this at a special price and offer suggestions as to a venue. Some conditions apply. Please call me if you wish to discuss this option.
Elopements and Surprise Weddings
Many couples today are choosing to have a surprise wedding ceremony at another event, such as an engagement party, or to simply marry in a special location with just two witnesses. I have done many ceremonies for situations such as this and can assist with ideas and facilitating the day.
